Frequently Asked Questions
How long will the repair process take?
Repairs generally take about 12 days for items sent WITH PAYMENT. This
means from the time your package arrives at my PO Box until the time I put it
back in the mail to you. If parts need to be ordered I'll let you
know. Parts orders generally take about a week.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I prefer checks since the banks don't take a percentage (don't get me started on
how much I dislike banks). I will not cash your check until the repair is
complete.. I also (reluctantly) accept Visa,
Master Card and
Discover credit cards and PayPal.
Do I need to send a check with the
repair?
Yes, this will speed up the repair process, but I will not cash your check until
the repair is completed. Repairs are completed in the order payment is
received. If you prefer to pay via Credit Card or Pay Pal please refer to
the previous FAQ.
What if the repair is still under the manufacturer’s
warranty?
I no longer repair items for ANY manufacturer under warranty. If the
product is less than a year old and the problem was not caused by misuse (such
as: dropping, crushing, moisture, excessive temperature, pet chewing, baby
throwing, run over by car... you get the picture), please contact the
manufacturer directly.
Do you service products sent from other countries?
Yes. All international shipments will be charged an additional $18 US
currency for return postage.
Do you accept drop-off or pickup service?
No, I am currently only accepting work through the PO Box.
If the repair is more expensive than the estimate what
happens next?
As long as you provide a fairly clear explanation of the problem my repair
estimate will almost never change, however, in the event this happens I will
notify you immediately. I will not cash your check until the repair is
complete.
